9ID Soldier Shot Over A Verbal Altercation

San Fernando, Camarines Sur - At about 10PM of September 19, 2009, Army Corporal Jaime Ramos, the Calascagas Detachment commander, was shot by one CAA Cesar Rentoria of the same unit. Accordingly, the shooting was the result of a heated altercation over administrative matters in the camp. The assailant fled the crime scene but he was quickly arrested by combined elements of the PNP San Fernando and 9ID intelligence operatives.

In a text message sent to MAJOR HAROLD CABUNOC, the municipal mayor of San Fernando, Honorable Fermin Mabolo, said that he will facilitate the filing of criminal case against the alleged assailant who is now behind bars in the local jail. MAJOR CABUNOC, PIO 9ID, expressed his gratitude to Mayor Mabolo for his full cooperation and decisive action to the incident.

The 9th Infantry Division has consistently maintained its presence in Brgy Calascagas in its effort to protect the various socio-economic projects being implemented by the national government in the entire municipality.
