Lupi, Camarines Sur - One (1) section from the COLT/Intel Platoon of 31IB under 1LT BOHOL and Recon Platoon under 2LT SALIK and 2LT ESICO while on security patrol encountered a group of local communist terrorists (LCTs) at Brgy Tible, Lupi, Camarines Sur at around 11AM, September 6, 2009. The firefight lasted for about ten (10) minutes afterwhich the enemy withdrew towards different directions resulting to the recovery of two (2) M16 rifles, one (1) M14 rifle, one (1) Improvised Explosive Device (IED), and two (2) backpacks of the LCTs. It was not ascertained however whether there was enemy killed but the discovery of bloodstains on their route of withdrawal hinted undetermined number of enemy casualty. Government troops on the other hand emerged unscathed from the said gun battle.
