398 Candidate Soldiers Hurdled Basic Military Training

CAMP ELIAS ANGELES, Pili, Camarines Sur – Three hundred ninety eight candidate soldiers successfully finished the Basic Military Training (BMT) conducted by the 9th Division Training Unit (9DTU) based here. The training culminated in a simple graduation cereBulleted Listmony held at 9:00am today, 20 January 2010.

Lieutenant Colonel Claudio Yucot, 9DTU Commander, said that not one among the candidate soldiers who joined the rigorous training failed to finish the 3-month course. “The professionalism and competence of my training instructors paid off.”, he said. As part of the BMT, candidate soldiers were made to undergo basic soldiery skills such as rifle marksmanship, map reading and land navigation, fieldcraft and survival techniques. They were also trained in International Humanitarian Law, environmental protection and disaster response operations.
