CamSur Shooting Left 2 People Dead

CAMP ELIAS ANGELES, Pili, Camarines Sur – At least three unknown assailants stormed a videoke bar in Lupi town and shot two people inside at around 10:00am last Saturday, July 24, a military report said.

SPO2 Alexie Virata, who proceeded to the crime scene together with Army soldiers, said that the shooting happened in Merly’s bar located in Mamalao village.

Virata identified the victims as Ruben Idanan and Vicente Dulison, residents of the said place, who both sustained multiple gunshot wounds from a Caliber .45 pistol resulting to their instantaneous death.

Virata also said that Dulison is a former member of the Sta Rosa, Laguna police force but he was dismissed from the service in 2005. He added that initial investigation revealed that the victims did not have any known enemies in the area.

Major Harold Cabunoc, Spokesperson of the 9th Infantry Division, said that thorough investigation is now being carried out both by military and police authorities to identify the perpetrators and to file criminal cases against them.

“The CPP-NPA-NDF’s SPARU members are considered as suspects in this heinous crime. They have killed at least 5 innocent civilians this year alone ‘for alleged crimes against the masses’,” said Cabunoc.
