Morale and Welfare Projects Inaugurated by the Army in Bicol Region

CAMP ELIAS ANGELES, Pili, Camarines Sur – The Philippine Army inaugurated a completed camp facility during the visit of Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff General Ricardo A David Jr 8:00am yesterday, a military report said.

Major General Ruperto Pabustan, Commander of the 9th Infantry Division, said that he assisted David in the inauguration of the Enlisted Personnel Barracks and the ground-breaking ceremonies for the 9ID’s Commissary.

“With the newly finished enlisted personnel barracks, our soldiers can now stay comfortably in a decent billeting area. Meanwhile, our commissary will cater the basic necessities of our soldiers as it is where they can buy goods at much better price,” said Pabustan.

David was beaming with pride after being presented with the series of notable accomplishments of the Army in Bicol Region.

“With the best Commander leading you, I am quite impressed by your accomplishments in ISO as well as the dismantling of political armed groups in Masbate,” David stated in his remarks.

Barely two (2) weeks before David’s visit, the 9ID, confiscated at least fifteen (15) high-powered firearms through armed encounters and surrender negotiations.

As of this date, the Army in Bicol has confiscated a 49 high-powered firearms and 27 low-powered firearms from the communist rebels, lowering the number of the NPAs firearms to at least 299 high-powered firearms and 31 low-powered firearms.
