3 Armed Goons Nabbed and 7 Firearms Confiscated in Masbate Raid

MILAGROS, Masbate – Three people were arrested and 7 different firearms were confiscated by joint Army and police forces in Masbate today (Sep 30), a military report said.

LtCol Anthony Purugganan, Commander of the 9th Infantry Battalion said that a platoon of his soldiers led by 1st Lieutenant Ariel Annudin participated in the police raid in Bangon village of Arroroy town at around 6:00am.

Purugganan said that the raid was covered by a search warrant issued by a local court against the suspected members of a private armed goons.

The said operation yielded 7 firearms including 1 Cal 5.56mm M653 Rifle, 1 Cal 9mm KG9 Submachinegun, 2 Cal .45 M1911A1 Pistol, 2 Shotguns and 1 Cal .22 revolver.

Police Senior Superintendent Henry Ranola, Chief of the Special Task Force Masbate identified the suspects as Rico Sandig, Resurrecion and Roberto Tugbo.

The arrested persons were brought to the police station in Aroroy town as criminal cases of illegal possession of firearms and violation of the COMELEC gun ban are filed against them.

Major General Ruperto Pabustan has commended the members of the Special Task Force Masbate for its efficient coordination leading to the arrest of some suspected partisan armed group members.
